First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.-First Amendment
Without the First Amendment religious minorities could be persecuted. However, many people dispute certain things ,and if we have rights then why argue about the burning of the Bibles and the United States flag? Why can’t musicians such as rappers do hardcore rap without being censored on the radio? So I guess there is a fine –line that you can’t cross with the First Amendment.

Tunisian girl

I think it is unfair Tunisian girl Lina Ben Menni was unable to blog or even Facebook about a rapper’s limitation of expression in their country.
When the reporter asked Lina about how the police verbally harassed her, she just laughed. How can you be a journalist and do your job properly if the police have the right to provoke you? Who gave the police the right to say she had AIDS - just to harass her.
At least she has the right to freedom of speech in the United States because of the First Amendment.

About me

The reason why I took this class is because I thought it would be interesting, and it is also required for my photography concentration major.
As a collegiate journalism student, I may not have much control or power to disseminate the news .
I love to take pictures of everything no matter what it might be; nothing scares me when it comes to shooting. I like to capture that first moment of the good and bad, the ups and downs. This is photojournalism .
I have always been interested in photojournalists who travel the country. I know their lives are sometimes in danger. I really watch a lot of that on television, and I know they see things I could never see. I wish I could witness what they see for myself.
